Email connection using SMTP/IMAP

1 - Setup Your IMAP

Open Gmail on your desktop and head over to the settings tab
Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab on the top
Select Enable IMAP and click on Save Changes

2- Enabling 2 Factor Authentication

Head over to your Google Account
Navigate to the Security tab on the left side
Select Enable 2 Step Verification if it not Enabled. In a situation it is, skip the rest of this step and go to the next
Click on get started
You’ll be prompted to add your password again, go ahead and do so
Verify the device to which you’d like to get the verification code
Type in your phone number
Enter the code you would have just received
Verify the details and click on Turn on
If you head back to the Security Tab, you should now see a tick mark next to 2-Step Verification

3 - Creating an App Password

Head over to your Google Account
Navigate to the Security tab on the left side
Select on App Passwords
You may be prompted to re-enter your gmail account password again, if so, please go ahead and type it in
In the dropdown select the Mail option, and for the device dropdown, select Other (custom name)
Name it something relevant to ContactOut to make it easy to identify down the road, then click Generate
You’ll have a password generated, which you need to copy and keep safely

4 - Final Step

Click on "+ Connect new inbox" and select the SMTP/IMAP option.
Type in your email account & password with the other pieces of information in the image below


SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com

SMTP Port: 465

SSL: True

IMAP Host: imap.gmail.com

IMAP Port: 993

SSL: True
